Melody Of Love (Engleman) by Wayne King & his Orchestra
The familiar waltz “Melody Of Love” would achieve its greatest mainstream success in late 1954/early 1955 via Billy Vaughn’s million-selling single and the various other instrumental and vocal cover versions that immediately followed. It had been composed in 1903 by Hans Engleman (nee Engelmann) and was revived in the 1940s by “The Waltz King”…first with this posted instrumental and later in another King version that additionally featured a poetry reading by radio announcer Franklyn MacCormack (see this channel’s 1942 collection).
