The album tells the story of Earth's final moments, just as it is about to be destroyed by an alien life form. The aliens are a type II civilization on the Kardashev scale. They seek to destroy any other life form in the galaxy that could threaten their supremacy.

Earthlings have no way of retaliating and just try to make sense of this cosmic cataclysm by retreating into the sacred.
