Originally, this record was to be the guitarist Yoshitake Expe’s solo album, but then came the turning point when he re-encountered drummer Minoru Takahashi. About a month after they formed the band, the “nutron” recording started. The basic recording was conducted with the engineer Hayashi o.g. in Macao, in the basement of the Misono bld. (located in Sennichimae, Namba, Osaka) in 4days. It is said that the Misono bld. is a place with mystical powers, and a large part of the recorded “Funk Data” was mysteriously destroyed. With the surviving recordings, this ambient minimal funk was completed. The whole basic recording is an improvisation, which is why the production contains some “rough” parts but it was deliberately kept raw, without edits or arrangements. The synthesizer and bass-like sounds are all “space guitar” sounds, and the sampler and sequencer-like rhythms are all unedited drums. The space guitar is Yoshitake Expe’s experimental cosmic sound, created through his compact effectors and electric guitar. “nutron” are capable of realising their own “spectra sounds and space funk” live, not just in album form. They are a duo who hope to keep evolving by doing joint work with other guest performers.
