In the past centuries the Unicorn was not only a symbol or a legendary animal, it lived in the common conception, and it was one of the mysterious inhabitants on the borders of the known lands.
Before the spreading of christian religion the unicorn was considered a model of strength and virility, then it assumed, in medieval era, a more mystical significance.
Its coat was white and pure as the Moon, immaculate, its long and tapered horn instead gave it a direct contact with the divine dimension and also immunity to every poison. Its strength was unparallelled even if its body was small, humility symbol.
Valiant knights or entire armies were no use to catch it, since they couldn't even be able to see the untamed animal. A dame only, noble in spirit and body, could had draw near to it and might had been able to tame it. The unicorn became in fact the epitome for respect, pureness, strength and freedom. Adopted in countless heraldic coats of arms of families or entire countries it became a role model of inspiration. Its death occured when human beings stopped seeking these ideals, feeling as they had reached a point of supremacy over everything, placing themselves even above Nature itself.
Inside \"La Morte dell'Unicorno\" we sing about historical facts, ancient dances, popular legends and medieval songs in which were contained extremely current problems, present still today, but which were faced with a different spirit, resolutive, alive and full of imagination, son of a flourishing historical period in which there was no fear of risking everything for the ideas, the only time in which fantasy and reality could coexist giving life to unrepeatable visual and musical works in History that we still admire and often struggle to understand.
A time where fantastic creatures like the Unicorn could still live.

Nei secoli passati l’unicorno non era solo un simbolo o un animale leggendario, egli viveva nel pensiero comune, era uno dei misteriosi abitanti ai confini delle terre conosciute.
Prima del diffondersi del cristianesimo l’unicorno era considerato un esempio di forza e virilità, fu in epoca medievale che assunse un’accezione più mistica.
Il suo manto era bianco e candido come la Luna, puro ed immacolato, il suo lungo ed affusolato corno invece gli conferiva un contatto diretto con il divino e lo rendeva immune ad ogni veleno.
La sua forza era senza pari nonostante il suo corpo fosse piccolo, simbolo di umiltà. Per catturarlo a nulla sarebbero serviti prodi cavalieri o interi eserciti, i quali non avrebbero potuto nemmeno vedere l’indomato animale. Solo una dama, nobile nello spirito e nel corpo, avrebbe potuto avvicinarlo e forse renderlo docile.
L‘unicorno divenne di fatto un esempio di rispetto, purezza, forza e libertà. Adottato in innumerevoli stemmi araldici di famiglie o di interi paesi, divenne un esempio al quale tendere.
La sua morte avvenne quando gli esseri umani smisero di ricercare questi ideali sentendosi ormai arrivati ad un punto di supremazia su ogni cosa, ponendosi persino al di sopra della Natura stessa.
Ne “La Morte dell’Unicorno” noi Murmur Mori cantiamo di fatti storici, antiche danze, leggende popolari e canzoni di epoca medievale nelle quali ci si confrontava con problematiche estremamente attuali anche al giorno d’oggi ma che venivano affrontate con uno spirito diverso, risolutivo, vivo e ricco d’immaginazione, figlio di un periodo storico fiorente nel quale non si aveva paura di giocarsi tutto per le proprie idee, l’unico tempo nel quale la fantasia e la realtà potevano convivere dando vita a opere visive e musicali irripetibili nella Storia e che ancora oggi ammiriamo e spesso a fatica comprendiamo.
Un tempo nel quale esseri fantastici come l’Unicorno potevano ancora vivere.
