I'm Thru' With Love - Dave Frost And His Café De Paris Band - Filmophone 290

Playing Next: Burning Jr. ‎– On That Day / Version [1976]
Random Page  /  Random Song

Taken from a very attractive yellow Filmophone record, this is a wonderfully smooth rendition with slightly different lyrics to others that I have heard on record.

Apparently Dave Frost underwent surgery in 1929 to remove a brain tumor and lost an eye in the process. He wore glasses and a false eye after and this may have been one of the reasons why he avoided publicity and isn't as well known as other bandleaders.

I am indebted to Memory Lane for this one, as I have another copy on a rather trashed Filmophone that sounded awful! Thanks also to Peter Wallace, Henry Parsons and Terry Brown for the photos of Dave Frost's Band. Enjoy...
