STEPHEN THE SLEEPY BOI (Full Album)

Playing Next:

Welcome to my most ambitious, \"grand-finale-esque\" project: STEPHEN THE SLEEPY BOI, a new lofi/indie/pop music album by me, THE Stephen Castillo ! This is the story of a boy who deals with Bipolar Disorder, and because of it, he stays up every night struggling to sleep due to his emotions being all over the place, keeping himself up with philosophical topics on the mind. Will Stephen learn how to accept himself for who he is ? Find out in this 17 track, 40 minute album !

This is one of my more personal works, as I wanted to give more awareness to an accurate representation of Bipolar Disorder. I've been dealing with it for quite awhile now, and throughout my last 2-3 years, I've noticed how much the media misinterprets the image of the disorder. It's not just one second feeling crazy-happy, and then viciously angry the next, and that's what upset me about it. So instead of sitting around waiting for someone to change that, I wanted to be one of the few who shed the light towards the right direction.

I wanted to grow enormously as an artist this time around, and I told myself to make each and every piece a lot more powerful than my usual songwriting process. So, instead of making a 4 bar loop, singing some 5 second melodies, and calling it a day, I decided to add more to my songs, and properly structure them. I whole heartedly believe that in each song, you can REALLY feel the emotions I go through, and I'm proud of myself for exceeding my expectations for myself.

This album is available LITERALLY everywhere, so share it with your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, etc. If you like what you hear, show some support ! I could really use it. :')

It's been almost a whole year since I started creating stories through the form of music, and sadly, it's time for a brief intermission. Thank you for giving me a platform to really speak up about what's on my mind. Thank you for letting me tell you my stories through really rough singing. Thank you for listening to me, after dealing with a silenced voice for so long. I hope in some form or fashion, I can become the light for those who suffer with the same problems I do.

Don't worry though, I won't be gone for long ! See you soon.
