In the circus town of Caravania, the post traumatic stress capital of America, a magical world of scattered shiny beer cans, rusty trailers, sprinkled saw dust and balloons in all the faded colors of the world, lives Limbo the Clown with his wingding wife, Lynda the Acrobatic Harlot and their tickly twins, The White Trash Slingshot Kids. Here he spends his days among his fellow performers, Bruce the Bearded Lady, Lucky the Lion Tamer, Jugglin’ Steve and of course, Rex the Dogboy. Together they run their own circus show, The Carnival of the Damned.
But all is not well in Caravania. Behind the happy evening façade there is much sadness. Once an esteemed circus show, Carnival of the Damned, traveled all over the country and took its performers from valleys to mountains, from beaches to farmlands, from jungles to deserts. But that was all before the incident, before they lost their beloved circus manager and card trickster, Sugar “The” Loaf, in a freak circus related accident including one of Lucky’s lions, a trapeze and a left over corn dog from that night’s performance.
From then on the show was cursed, as it seemed to bring bad tidings to whatever city it visited. Everything from bad minor league results to famine and an excessive presence of bumble bees in the summer has been blamed on The Carnival of the Damned, and today it isn’t allowed outside the town of Caravania.
Even so the show is still sold out every night, due solely to the inhabitants of the neighboring city of Trashtrailertown, a city even worse off than Caravania, where pineapples smell like apples and dogs are literally cats. It’s like it’s impossible for things to get worse over there.
And Limbo is concerned. As the descendent of Blackwhitey the Clown, the only albino clown with a mullet of imperialistic measures and a deep, thick and lustrous black moustache, ever to have walked the streets of Caravania, he’s become the ensembles natural leader.
Although he’s got enough problems of his own…
