David Atkinson and Skies Project - BUZZ WORDS! (1989) : Music and Lyrics By David Atkinson. My second self-produced Skies Project album, made on 4-track cassette tapes. Recording started in Maine (mostly Brewer) and finished in Palm Springs, California. When performing \"I PLAY FOR YOU (And No One Hears),\" I would usually sing 'hidden cornflakes are driving me mad.' \"BACK OFF\" seethes with misdirected scorn and vitriol; I regret its message now. Listen for my brother, Paul Atkinson, who sings lead vocal on \"RELEASE ME,\" for which he also wrote the lyrics. \"COUNTRY HITS-309,\" which tells the story of a codependent man and the true love who treats him like hell, was a favorite of my mother's. \"EXTORTION,\" the theme for a school video project, was recorded in a dorm at Husson College in Bangor, Maine. I wrote \"SING MY LOVE\" when I was fifteen, and it certainly shows. Lynette McDaniel, née Trout penned the middle-eight lyrics for \"ISN''T IT STRANGE?\" \"TONIGHT\" was recorded at two-thirty on Christmas morning. I sang whatever entered my head while the tape rolled; singing to a keyboard loop.
