Back in 1968, the Dave Brubeck Trio performed in Mexico City at Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Palace) and Auditorio Nacional (National Auditorium). The record that collected these concerts was produced by Teo Macero. The cover photo showing "Compadres" Brubeck and Mulligan was shot in front of the Presidente Benito Juárez memorial located in the Alameda Central, Mexico City (Central Park).
