"Still Loving You" was released on the Scorpions' ninth studio album, Love At First Sting, in the winter of 1984. The album became the band's most successful U.S. release, reaching #6 on the Billboard 200 chart. Two very popular singles were released from the album including the hard rocking "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and this beautiful ballad...to me one of the greatest metal ballads ever.
This is my 3rd video for a Scorpions song, following my even more favorite! ballad, "Lady Starlight" and the crunchy "The Zoo". I'd been wanting to work on a more rocking tune, but ended up back at "Still Loving You". The vid was fun to work up but ended up a classic example of one where I probably should have left well enough alone and gone with one of my first edits, which contained much less movement and really slowed things down visually. Through several subsequent edits I kept chopping the longer sequences and stuffing more in....not sure the early edits weren't better.....whatever, it's done.
Hope my next trip down Scorpions lane will be rocking out! ;-)
