For my friend Ali, I offer here the opening and closing sequences from the short-lived, 1974 CBS-TV series \"Planet of the Apes,\" starring Roddy McDowall, Ron Harper, and James Naughton. This science-fiction drama was, of course, based on the 1968 film \"Planet of the Apes\" and its lesser sequels.
The theme music here was composed by Lalo Schifrin, who also created the scores for films such as \"Bullitt\" and \"Dirty Harry,\" and the themes for TV series including \"Mission: Impossible\" and \"Mannix.\"
