They arent, everything you see here is literally fake, choreographed, scripted, call it what you want. This is not how DPRK was in 1989, it's a Truman show version.

POSTSCRIPT: this was shot to show how artificial the scene was set up to be during the Festival - this is in no way meant to be a depiction of how things really were in NK in 1989!
BTW I was a 25 year old woman when I took this footage in 1989. Just thought I'd mention that (7 years after posting) so I dont have to sometimes wonder who YT posters are referring to when they talk about \"him\" filming. I mean fairs that you might assume that, but it isn't the case here and many other places. Anyways, cheers.
