Sometimes is the third single from Ashs number 1 album Free All Angels following Shining Light and Burn Baby Burn. Like most of the other tracks from the album Sometimes was written when the band had six months off following the Nu-clear Sounds world tour reconvening at Tims folks house, playing and creating songs in the same garage where it all began in 1992.
As with Burn Baby Burn the video was directed by Jeff Thomas. The video was shot in Cuba with Cuban model Arianne playing the love interest. During filming a roof collapsed and several crew members were taken to hospital with minor bumps and bruises. Frontman Tim Wheeler narrowly avoided injury, but nevertheless Sometimes became the second Ash video to require a trip to the hospital, following drummer Rick McMurrays illness during the recording of the A Life Less Ordinary video.
