“Gaia” is a conceptual double album, and the culmination of a research and experimentation process that Mögnö has been focusing on over the last few years. This instrumental work has as its central concept the deterioration of the human mind, an idea that progresses along the length of the album. “Gaia” uses nature as a vehicle to explore this theme, making an analogy with the deterioration of the climate and our natural world.
The album is framed by the main piece, “Gaia”, which is divided into three parts: the first, “Âmago”, serves as a prelude, introducing the listener to the concept; the second part, entitled “Fragmento”, is an interlude that appears at the beginning of the second disc; and the third and final part, “Entropia”, completes the cycle of the album and the piece as a whole.
The track “Gaia” appears to us, thus, divided. As a single piece, it flows within the album, serving as its frame; but it also operates as an individual work within the disc itself.
