Carlos, I know you're a Sinnoh fan, but when are you gonna do Pokmon Black and White music? Okay, here it is. LET'S OPEN UP THIS PIT! Insaneintherainmusic's jazz arrangement of Route 10 from Pokmon Black & White, featuring @ToxicxEternity!
It's about time I got to some Pokmon Black and White music! I haven't covered ANY music from this great game since my first year of making music videos on YouTube (my first ever saxophone cover on this channel was of Nimbasa City, which you can view here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEHVRIZTsA4), so it feels great to be getting back to this game! This has been a heavily requested song for a long time, so I'm very happy to be bringing you this arrangement. It's probably odd seeing a Unova arrangement from me, considering how much I love Sinnoh... but hey, good music is good music!
Regarding Pokmon Black and White as a whole, I think they're actually pretty great Pokmon games! Some people dislike them, and I can see some of their arguments, but for me personally, I really like the darker direction that Game Freak took the game in, as well as the musical direction! For me, this game is right up there with Diamond and Pearl. Definitely not quite as high, but BW are A tier if DPPt are S tier!
This specific arrangement actually has a pretty interesting backstory! I arranged this way back in 2018, and talked to Jack about covering it, but for some reason... we never actually finished it! I reached out to him again recently, and we figured due to quarantine time, we'd get together and finally finish the cover! It was fun getting to freshly perform an arrangement I had written about a year and a half ago, and I definitely noticed some differences in how I arrange / write sheet music!
This particular arrangement was heavily inspired by T-Square! As you may know if you've seen my EWI explanation video, I'm a big fan of T-Square, and their sound is one of the reasons I've been pursuing playing the EWI. Their fusion sound is an awesome mix of classic rock, metal and jazz, so I though it'd be very appropriate to have Jack contribute some electric and acoustic guitars to this song. Turned out super well. I think the one other thing that this song could need is some sort of pan flute, haha... but I'm happy with it the way it is! I spent a long time mixing this (getting good mixes with distorted guitars and acoustic jazz instruments in them is TOUGH!) Hope you enjoy! I think we'll be returning to Sinnoh soon :)
