I couldn't believe it when I heard the news the other day.......Alexi Laiho, frontman of Children of Bodom/Bodom After Midnight has passed away......I'm still having troubles accepting it. Children of Bodom was and still is my favorite band, after they disbanded and Alexi formed Bodom After Midnight with a new team I was so excited. We would get to hear more of Alexi's insanely well crafted song writing and guitar ability! That is until the tragic news broke......:(
Unfortunately life isn't fair and he has been taken away from us, way too soon at the age of 41. I wish I got to see them live, unfortunately that never happened, but I can still enjoy the music that Alexi made, his music will never die and his spirit will live on forever. I've never felt this way before with someone I never even knew, should I be this bummed out? His music meant a lot to me and got me through the hardest of times including the loss of my father many years ago.
My father passed away in 2013, the same year Halo of Blood came out. It came out a few months after his passing and became my favorite Bodom album as it helped me cope with life. I decided to honor Alexi by playing through the whole album on Clone Hero, all of the songs charted by me as part of my \"Bodom Hero\" project.
R.I.P. to a true guitar hero, Alexi \"Wildchild\" Laiho.
