I first heard this 45 back in the mid 90's on a mix tape that was dubbed from one of the old Pebbles LP compilations. Even in tinny fidelity It's been a favorite of mine since then. I have searched online for years, yet found little information about this group.. Because of it's high catalog number, some record collectors and garage rock fans have written that this 45 was recorded in 1972, but it's from 1968. It was this legendary label's first 45, and it was distributed by Pickwick.
It took me over a decade to score my own copy of this gem. Either I was quickly outbid or the starting price was way too high. I finally scored a copy for $20 last year on E-bay (the seller had listed it with the other side, \"Loving Kind Of Way\").
This dub is right from my 45, and unlike those garage comps, you're hearing it at the correct speed and hopefully in cleaner fidelity. It's still not the best, and I wish some reissue company like Sundazed, Rhino or Ace would license the master tape and reissue it on CD!
