Annette Hanshaw recorded Speedy Boy in March 1928 in New York City accompanied by Willard Robison's Deep River Orchestra. Robison did not have a girl singer in his band, which was a must for every late20s-early 30s band. Annette acted as the girl singer for such bands that recorded in the Columbia/Pathe (and its subsidiary label) studios. The record was released on the Pathe Actuelle labels 36785 and X6251. Annette's husband, Wally Rose, was an executive with Pathe. Vintage film clips of \"Speedy Boy\" Harold Lloyd are from the 1920 silent movie \"Get Out & Get Under\". The music was created by Raymond Klages and Jesse Greer. And Yes, I know its Robison and not Robinson.
