Lotek Cruiser is a Canadian sludge/doom band from Kitchener, Ontario. The band was formed in 2012 by Alex Araya (Guitar/vocals) and Trevor Rees (Bass) after shutting down their Death Metal band Vanished Hours. They started talking about doing something different. The songwriting started shortly thereafter and was a fusion of death metal, doom, sludge riffs. After recruiting a few different guitar players, Chad Seim was brought into the band in 2013. With Chad’s input into songwriting and influences in blues, stoner and punk. Songs were rewritten and took a new sonic dimension. Drummer Micheal Zettell was brought into the fold in 2015. With his rhythmic syncopated style, Lotek Cruiser was starting to take shape. In late 2015 Nathan Fereiro joined the band and Lotek Cruiser was now fully born.
In January 2016 Lotek Cruiser joined the Irish heavy weights Slomatics and England’s Allfather on a Dwar Pr compilation. On March 16, 2017, Lotek Cruiser released their Ep Spirit Vine. February 23, 2019, the band released their first full-length studio album, “Lotek Cruiser”.
