These videos are designed for guitar beginners or those with only limited guitar knowledge. They use simple chord shapes as much as possible and do not necessarily represent the way in which the song was originally played. They are designed as practice tools to supplement your other learning methods. Information is provided on screen for both right and left-handed players!
This is a heavily simplified arrangement of Setting Sail, Coming Home. The song is taken from the fantastic soundtrack by Darren Korb to the video game Bastion. Originally, Darren played the song with his guitar in a wonderful altered tuning, but to make things simpler here I've adapted it to use a capo on fret 3 and stay in standard tuning.
The song is made up of 2 chord sequences: the verses use Am-Dm-C-B7 and the chorus uses C-B7-C-B7. That's it!
B7 is not the easiest chord for a complete beginner, as it requires the fingers to be very clustered and almost on top of each other. It will come together with some perseverance, and is a very useful shape to master so keep at it!
