The 35th release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Kamilo Sanclemente back to the label for his debut EP. The Colombian artist last appeared on the Colombian imprint in June of this year with a remix of ‘Expression’ by Dmitry Molosh. Boasting a meticulous discography, Kamilo has also showcased his music on Einmusika, Manual Music and Perspectives Digital, earning a bevy of A-list DJ support as a result. Having recently taken on an A&R role with Clubsonica, Kamilo now makes his much anticipated return, presenting his first EP for the label entitled ‘Sea Of Tranquillity’.
Kamilo has been one of this year’s most pleasant surprises. Now a perennial in Beatport’s progressive house charts, the Colombian artist has crafted a sound all his own, creating a buzz amongst the top DJs including Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He continues that strong momentum here with the EP’s title and showcase piece ‘Sea of Tranquillity’. Electric rhythms, delicate melodies and misty atmospheres wrap around a foundation of energetic beats. Astral effects and timely modulation complete a rousing first act, ultimately leading to a series of emotive breaks. Split up into three sections the second act is lesson in building tension. Kamilo’s expertise can’t be overstated with classy execution and liquid-like flow resulting in maximum emotional response. Surely one of the Colombian’s most refined works to date and no doubt one of the fall season’s biggest records.
The companion piece finds Kamilo collaborating with fellow countryman Mauro Aguirre. The duos ‘Ocean Of Storms’ sits as a lovely complement to the lead piece with its rolling rhythmic core and dark, mystical undertone. Undulating bass stabs, waves of percussion and timely vocal elements generate amazing momentum before a haunting top line lifts the mood into celestial territory. Subtle in delivery and all the more impactful as a result it leads to a third act highlighted by buzzing effects and gentle synth overlays. A masterful journey from Kamilo and Mauro, rounding out what is one of Clubsonica’s most impressive offerings to date. Don’t miss it.
