Αρλέτα - (Τραγουδά η) Αρλέτα (Arleta - Arleta Sings) [1966] (Full Album)

Arleta (3 March 1945 – 8 August 2017) was a Greek singer. Her real name is Argyro - Nicoleta Chapra. He was born in Athens. She studied painting at the School of Fine Arts. She began her recording career in the 1960s by participating in the so-called new wave of Greek music. In her first recordings she collaborated with several well-known composers, such as Yannis Spanos, Manos Hadjidakis and Mikis Theodorakis. She released three personal albums at the end of the sixties of the new wave era, and a collection of Hadjidakis songs. After a withdrawal from live performances in the 70s and a short hiatus in discography at the end of that decade, she returned to music scene with a slight different style of music. Appart from her participation to the work of great composers as the Third Anthology of Giannis Spanos, N. Mamagakis (Erofili) and N. Mavroudis (Child Of The Earth), as well as her special interpretation to Romancero Gitano of Mikis Theodorakis (on F. G. Lorca lyrics), she released only an exceptional work then, the album Six Days on Pavlina Pampoudis lyrics, which is very rare today. In 1981 she recorded the first album with her own material (One Hat with Songs). In 1984 and 1985 she was very successful with songs written by composer Lakis Papadopoulos and lyricist Marianina Kriezis in the albums Peripo and Tsai Yasemiou. Some of her successes are: «Once I Remember», «Little Children», «The Song Says It Also», «The Wolf», «The Song of the Drachma», «Café», «Serenade» «Cozy», «Jasmine Tea», «The Quiet Evening», «Batida de Coco», «The Shipwreck Bar», «Bus 2». In 1997 she released the book «Which Way Do They Go For The Spring» with texts, lyrics, drawings and paintings. (Kastaniotis Publications). The music of Arleta was very successful in Athens boites.
