Alta Tension was perhaps the similarly closer project to the Chilean band Aguaturbia in Argentina. Alejandra Aldao was in my opinion the best female singer from the region. She was involved in many bands such as Popsingers and Santa Barbara Super Star. They recorded only one album on the RCA label under this name (almost impossible to find), and a few singles before disbanding. She actually reminds me a bit of Zephyr's lead singer Candy Givens, but oddly blended with Roisin Murphy (ex-Moloko) in some tracks (such as the cover version of Shango's That's My Bag), and perhaps Della Reese, and Shirley Bassey. This is a killer cover version of Mountain's Mississippi Queen, which just blows my mind. Bravissimo Alejandra!
