Tristan Whitehill's ethereal and technical solo project, Euglossine, returns with another collection of shimmering and brilliantly composed Jazz-fusion gems in 'Sharp Time'. Though decidedly less \"whimsical\" (for lack of a better word) than the previous album, 'Puzzle Gallery', 'Sharp Time' is no less eager to drift and float in whatever direction it wishes as the distant, glistening synths ride soft, pillowy bass over gentle percussion. However soft most of the album may be, it's not without its textures and industrial quirks, which pop up all throughout at just the right times to spice things up, as do the occasional Jazz guitar licks. This is a thinking listener's relaxation album, and an extremely well-crafted one at that.
