McGuiness Flint was an early example of a \"supergroup\". The lineup was Tom McGuiness (ex-Manfred Mann), Hughie Flint (former drummer with John Mayall), singer-songwriters Gallagher and Lyle along with vocalist Dennis Coulson. This was their debut single and peaked at #2 in the UK charts in 1970. The follow up made #5, but their sound was difficult to reproduce live on stage and their concerts were often disappointing. The sudden success proved too much for the group and slowly, they disbanded.
