The origins of this song are a bit obscure. As far as I can make out, it may have been published first in Scotland, but was published in America in 1888 by Joseph J Sullivan. It was then re-written by Charles (or James) Rolmas (Rolmaz) and published in England in 1901.
I quite like music hall songs, so here is my interpretation of this one.
