Trust in time evaporates
to cloud the mind into bursting,
with a rain that spits off the lips,
a barrage of hurtful insults.
That eventually accumulate
into floods of tears and heartache.
That erode the coasts
and storm the sails
of relationships
Age bitters in the mouth.
Words trap in the teeth
and like food decay.
With the sour taste of time
tripping off the tip
of the tongue.
Sleepless nights
tied awake
in beds of knots
She's known some of the best.
She knows there's no need
to hold her breath.
Sunk by the passing of time.
The closest of friends
all washed away.
You've seen the coming of age.
The crashing sound waves.
You're all but done.
Shipped wrecked on a
tide of tongue.
Age bitters in the mouth.
Words trap in the teeth
and like food decay.
With the sour taste of time
tripping off the tip
of the tongue.
This Town Needs Guns (officially shortened to “TTNG”) are a math rock band originating from Oxford, United Kingdom. They were formed in 2004, and are currently signed to sargent house (USA).
Members:
Vocals/bass/support guitar: Henry Tremain
Lead guitar: Tim Collis
Drums: Chris Collis
The events leading up to this album:
Former vocalist Stuart Smith left This Town Needs Guns in 2011 to focus on his family, and became a father shortly after. New vocalist Henry Tremain (of Pennines) took Stu's place as vocalist. Bassist Jamie Cooper also left shortly after Stu did, leaving Henry to fulfull bass duties as well. Jamie however had written all of the bass parts to this album before leaving.
Regarding the name change:
This Town Needs Guns changed their band name to TTNG shortly after the release of 13.0.0.0.0. Gun control and firearm laws were not an issue for the band in 2004 when the they were smaller and less popular. After gaining a stronger international following in more recent years, and as gun control became a more controvesial issue (particularly in the USA), the band's name was starting to be miscontrued as a real sentiment. The band then made the decision to change their name to the acronym of their former name, to TTNG.
