This was the second of two national top-10 hits for New York’s Peppermint Lounge house band (see also “Peppermint Twist”). The original 1959 Isley Brothers recording of “Shout” https://youtu.be/1Wa8qQLvSNk made a brief return to the Hot 100 during Joey Dee’s chart run.
