This is an old Jacobite song, about the routing of Gen. John Cope the British commander of The Battle of Prestonpans in 174,. It is said by onlookers that the actual battle took less than 15 minutes. Alex Beaton singing \"Hey Johnny Cope\" from his \"20 Hits of Scotland\" album from 1990. He has a new album with his favoirte songs on it, and this is on the new album also. Enjoy! Please check out the info on Alex Beaton. He has given his life to music, good causes, and spreading the traditons of his Scottish culture.
I am dedicating the rest of the info abut Alex Beaton:
On A Personal Note:
As most of you already know, Alex suffered a severe spinal cord injury early this summer. Alex has spent the better part of four decades not only sharing his love of Scottish music and history with us, but also devoting his time and talent appearing in more \"fund-raising events\" for various worthwhile causes than even he can remember. Well, at this time, Alex and his amazing wife Linda, could use your kind assistance and generosity in the form of a contribution to help defer the staggering medical expenses they are now facing. This type of injury can often take years of therapy in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities as well as home nursing care. Through his music, Alex has given so many people so much pleasure that, if there's any truth left in that old country adage \"what goes around, comes around\" then Alex and Linda will be just fine.
If you wish to help defer some of Alex's medical expenses, kindly send your contribution to:
