Playing Next: Hail to Thee Fat Person (Live)
Random Page  /  Random Song

Pennsylvania Six-Five Thousand (Sigman-Gray) by Glenn Miller & his Orchestra, vocal by The Band

This Jerry Gray classic (with the complex lyrics credited to Carl Sigman) was inspired by the telephone number of New York City’s Hotel Pennsylvania, where Glenn Miller and other big name bands performed in the hotel’s Café Rouge.

THE 1940 HITS ARCHIVE - a collection of commercial recordings and songs that proved popular during the calendar year 1940 (some were recorded in 1939) via sales, sheet music, and radio exposure.…plus some others that have gained increased recognition or have been shown to have had an impact during the decades that followed.
