Greenfly were a Spanish grindcore-leaning death metal band. They first formed in 1992, but were only active for 2 years, until they disbanded in 1994. In 2002 they reformed and recorded a demo and their debut album, which got released in 2003.
Opening up with an almost virtuoso intro solo, \"Ten Thousand Degrees\" shows you everything you will need to know about the album - expect high screeches and low growls, extreme blast beats, pedal point riffs and, to some degree, schizophrenia.
Greenfly might sound like a childish name for a band that deals with topics like the Holocaust, political issues and religious fanatism, but you know what? Who cares, it sounds good and the music only makes it better. Heavily melodic bits with some tremolos and high string solos mixed with intense deathgrind riffs sounds better than what I would expect it to.
Also they worked out their Death cover very nicely.
