Oakley seem to straddle the border between the more overt late 1970s German progressive bands such as Trilogy and Rousseau - and the Christian folky singalong types such as Eden and Credemus. Overall, it's a rather simplistic album for the progressive rock genre, but the melodies are a cut above the norm and the instrumentals are good if not a bit too straightforward. Some old time revival flute mixed in here and there as well. ashratom
Totally obscure German Symphonic Progressive with slight Folk and Pop overtones.Despite an utterly cult status, band operated with heavy instrumentation (various guitars, basses, keyboards plus flute and percussion) and a pair of assisiting female singers, result being a well-arranged Prog Rock album with sometimes a very British-style of playing.Melodic sensibilities, nice vocals in English, smooth interplays, often complex instrumentals meeting lighter and more accesible themes.Good effort and a file next to other unknown groups like FAIR LTD or CREDEMUS. apps79
