The Boondocks were a band that formed in 1995 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The band's original incarnation consisted of Brent Kipp & Aaron Boyette (both guitar and vocals), Floyd Pearce (bass) and Kelly Dodson (drums). \"Figure Eight\" was their first full-length album (released in March, 1997) on Goodgrief Records. The material was recorded in 3 locations - The Dugout (Nashville, Tennessee), Crystal Studios (Bryant, Arkansas) and their \"practice room\" on 4-track. The album received favorable reviews for its eclectic and original sound during the tail-end of the Lo-Fi movement. After relocating to Austin, Texas, the band would release one more album - this time as a 3-piece unit - \"Waiting for Joy\" (September, 1999) before parting ways in late 2000. Material for a third album was recorded that same year and is scheduled to be released in 2019 along with remastered versions of the aforementioned works. Please stay tuned for more info in the near future!
