In these Corona times, it is of course (despite the awful in the epidemic), a bit curious to present music on the little short-lived Swedish Corona label.When Menzenhaur & Schmidt, owners of German Kalliopé, wanted to expand and release records on the Swedish market as well, The company, AB Corona was formed. In addition to publishing, Corona electric also released records on the brands; Cremona Rex, Largola, Kalliope, Continental (the early variant) and Melocord. The company also released gramophones. The CEO in Sweden was Ernst Berglund, who was also the CEO of Osram, and the agency Holma. Berglund was born in Malmö 25 Jan 1889. He died in Stockholm 3 dec 1951 . And obviously he thought he was good enough as a chorus singer on his record labels, which he did under the pseudonym Holma.

At the German parent company, Sam Baskini (real name,Samuel Baskind) (born in Borissow Belarus 10 Aug 1890 - died in Vence France 24 nov 1980) was responsible for music production.Baskini who was a violinist and so-called steh-geiger had, like so many other German orchestra conductors during the last years of the Weimar Republic,a Jewish birth. Baskini was known as a skilled musician already during his time in his hometown, but was forced to flee during the Russian Revolution.He came to Berlin in 1925.In Berlin he attached to a several of Czech jazz pioneers, among them RA Dvorsky.
These probably also participated in the recordings for the Swedish market.

Presumed crew;
Karel Vacek & John Brigs (tr), RA Dvorský (p), Jindrich Kocina och Bohumil Klemr (as & cl) C Cikánek (dr). A Seyboldt (tb) F Friedl (g & bjo) Sam Baskini (v & dir).

After the Weimar era, Baskini was banned from working and had to flee again.He settled down in France, but according to some sources, he lived during the occupation of France in Argentina. He returned later to France.Unfortunately, Sam Baskini and his orchestra never resurfaced. Samuel Baskind continued only as a violinist in other orchestras and lived an unobtrusive life until his death in 1980.

\"My Queen of hearts\" was one of the songs in Rolf's revue in 1929, became very popular and it was released in 13 different versions.The composer is Helge Lindberg and the text was written by Gösta Stevens.This version is one of the best, but unfortunately Mr. Berglund's song is not so good, but Baskini and his orchestra is, as usual, very good.
