Both sides of a record of "English Patter" (as Zonophone described it) from c.1917. Tom Foy (1879-1917) was a Manchester-born comedian, very successful in his day both in music halls and pantomime. He first made his name as "The Lancashire Lad in London" played with a broad regional accent, and continued in that vein playing gormless innocent characters such as here.
Transcribed from an original record in my colelction.
