Recorded on the 28th February 1942 in Hollywood CA, and released on Columbia 37817. One of the hottest bands that Adolph put together, this line-up featured Adolph Hofner on lead vocal and guitar, brother Emil on steel guitar and harmony vocal, and the excellent J.R Chatwell on fiddle. Atlee Frazier supplied the upright bass, Walter Kleypas the accordion and Johnny Rives, who switched between fiddle and drums during the one day session. The clarinet was most likely supplied by Rudy Rivero, although this remains unconfirmed. Ten recordings were completed on the day, although only five were ever issued {two of which were instrumentals}, and with all the cuts displaying Adolph Hofner's Czech/polka background and strong Hawaiian influences. The individual soloists on this particular cut are exceptional, and represent a small example of the high standard that Adolph Hofner achieved throughout his long and distinguished performing career.
