Nicholas Burke is an American country singer, songwriter and producer. With a distinctive low booming voice, Burke delivers characterful songs steeped in American tradition. Songs about cowboys in the desert, loneliness and whiskey, lost love and longing can all be found on his latest full length album, Long Lost Friend, due to come out February 2015 on Los Angeles based indie label Vow Records.
Burke got his start drumming for SF Bay Area blues and rock band Ride The Blinds in the early 2000’s before making the switch to country. LLF, now his fifth release in the genre, would seamlessly play along side a Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard or Lee Hazelwood record in the jukebox. His music has been featured on the MTV television shows, Ridiculousness, Teen Mom 2 and 16 & Pregnant.
Now based in Los Angeles, Nicholas Burke has taken his finger picking style and commenced to become a one-man songwriting factory, specializing in cowboy psychedelia, and time capsule country music.
Last year Burke and his wife Nikki gave birth to their first son, they named him Waylon after the outlaw country Hall-of-Famer Waylon Jennings. It seems the torch has been passed, so put on your cowboy boots all ye city slickers, cause in the Burke household and here at Vow Records, California country is not dead.
