Lunatics & Lunatics Revenge by Electric Moon (2014) (Full Album)

Playing Next: Bloodline - Werewolf Training (FULL ALBUM 2003)
Random Page  /  Random Album

Electric Moon is a surreal force in space rock straight from Germany. Influenced by the moment, electric moon want to blow your brains off with timeless psychedelic acid grooves.

Lunatics & Lunatics Revenge is the re-release of their debut album, the two half-moons of the Electric Moon double album, which were separated at the time of initial release.

On the serene music prowess of Sula Bassana (guitar, organ, fx, drums), Pablo Carneval (drums) and Komet Lulu (bass, guitar, fx, vocals, lyrics) nothing has changed: we are blessed for flying Electric Moon PsychAirways! Except the well-placed Eric Burdon remake Hotel Hell and the concluding hymn, The Landing, the other songs written by the complete band inch beyond the ten minute mark. Cosmic jamming is the name of the game once again.

Brain Eaters explores a threatening side of space rock, Hotel Hell visits a Krautrock lobby, which does not necessarily seem cozy. The extended Moon Love starts trippy hallucinatory, is seemingly meandering disoriented for a while accompanied by whispering voices until it's gathering speed really, reaching for some heavy maybe even stoner moments. Gefährliche Planetengirls gradually pulls in a groovy hypnotic beat where Sula Bassana cares for all the other goodies speaking of tons of soaring and echoed space guitars.

Lunatic brings an evil tugging bass to the start and the 18-minute jam D-Tune sparks a true wah-wah ecstasy. It's fitting that The Landing completes the recommendable republication.

The album can be construed as an advocate of hypnotic grooves and spacey respectively fuzzy guitars, almost like space rock on speed.

Although, one of the most criminally underrated bands, this outtake does not provide a revolutionary new sound. However, they have been successful to bring forth the dreamy sounds straight from the 70's for your listening pleasure. This album is undoubtedly a must for every die hard space rock jock!
