Denise Lopez - Truth In Disguise 1988 [FULL ALBUM]

Playing Next: Celtic Frost - Cold Lake (Full Album 1988)

[Latin Freestyle/Freestyle/Synth Pop/Electronic/Pop/Dance] Here is Denise Lopez with her debut album titled: \"Truth In Disguise\". Let me begin by saying this album is a prime example of a failed promotional / marketing attempt as all the songs on this album had clearly the potential to be top hits in the united states back in the late 80's. I also think this album didn't fly well because her name is easily confused with the other Denise Lopez whom is a Swedish singer. Never the less, the little info I can gather indicates that she was born in Queens, New York. She released a few dance singles on indie labels in the mid-80s, including the awesome electro track \"Best Of Me\" as Neecy Dee, and \"Love Patrol\", as part of an act of the same name. In 1987, with assistance from big electro and HiNRG producers and remixers John Morales and Sergio Munzibai, she managed to get a HiNRG single released on RCA Victor titled: \"If You Feel It\". It was a club hit and it got her a record deal to make this album with A&M Records. Her next single, the freestyle hit \"Sayin' Sorry (Don't Make It Right)\" (Track 1) was a huge club smash and reached #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 (btw this is the song that she is mostly known for as freestyle music was a popular trend at the time). Her next single was a re-release of \"If You Feel It\" (Track 6), and though it managed to make it into the Hot 100 to #96 and almost made it to the top 20 on the dance charts, it was considered a disappointment; however, avid fans of latin freestyle music (myself including) consider this song to be her best. The third single from this album, \"Too Much Too Late\" (Track 8), sadly fared even worse and was a complete flop. Thus, the album as a whole went unnoticed, she did do a couple interviews, a music video for \"Sayin' Sorry (Don't Make It Right)\" (Track 1), live show appearances performing \"If You Feel It\" (Track 6) and even released a second album though it was strikingly different and didn't encapsulate the latin freestyle stuff that pretty much put her in the club spotlight at the time. Today, she is still hard to track but i assume she apparently now either lives in New York or LA and continues to make musical appearances every now and again judging by how popular freestyle music still is today with the public. This album was released under A&M Records '88.

(Btw, here is a nice interview of her on The Latin Connection Show -1988 https://youtu.be/g5_w68qwAJc)
