The famous Danish bandleader Erik Tuxen and his Orchestra playing \"New York\", composed and arranged by the band's pianist Leo Mathisen - a major figure in early Danish jazz. The recording took place in Copenhagen on 16 January 1933.

The band's personnel were as follows:
Axel Skouby, Niels Lund (tp), Peter Rasmussen (tb), Kai Ewans (cl, as), Kai Møller (as), Winstrup Olesen (ts), Leo Mathisen (p, arr), Berthel Skjoldborg (g), Kai Birch (b), Erik Kragh (dm), Erik Tuxen (dir)

Tuxen led this famous Danish band from 1932-1936. Many of the members became bandleaders themselves after Tuxen disbanded.
