Mick Rowley was the lead singer of psychedelic UK roch band The Smoke in the 60s who had a big hit with the song My Friend Jack (1967). After the band split in the mid-70s, Rowley and guitarist John 'Zeke' Lund moved to Munich where the disco scene was booming. Rowley signed with Jürgen Korduletsch's Lollipop label in 1978 (alongside Claudja Barry & Ronnie Jones) and released his first single Everybody's Mama. Korduletsch picked up Italian studio project Macho's sizzling version of Spencer Davis Band's I'm A Man upon its release and predicted it would become a smash. He rushed Mick into the studio to record a similar-sounding version of it, co-produced by drummer Keith Forsey & guitarist Mats Björklund, and released the subsequent LP in October 1978. Mick released a second album, Out Of Frame, in 1980.
