Bruce Brubaker & Max Cooper's album 'Glassforms' out now on InFiné on Vinyl (2LP), CD & digital - https://IDOL.lnk.to/Glassforms
What is Glassforms ? “It’s based on music by Philip Glass, but it is a re-invigoration, recontextualization, post-modernization. It’s not a remix, it’s a new set of clothes!” (Bruce Brubaker)
“A balance between order and chaos, which for me, is where the most beautiful music emerges” (Max Cooper)
Innovative pianist Bruce Brubaker and scientist-now-electronic-artist Max Cooper - two leaders from very different musical worlds - meet to create a new expression of music by Philip Glass and tell a story of diversity and vulnerability. Commissioned by and introduced at the Paris Philharmonie in 2019, Glassforms melds the acoustic concert grand piano — a symbol of “high” European culture and “classical music”— with synths and the electronic sound world of now to create a dynamic live experience. After performances in Paris Philharmonie, London’s Barbican, and Barcelona’s Sonar festival, their live project is now immortalized on an album.
