Step 1
Most seeds need to go through a cold period just as they would in nature. This process is called cold stratification. This will greatly improve germination results both in more seeds sprouting and faster germinated seeds
Step 2
Paper Towel Method to Seed Germination with a Zip lock bag or the Perlite in Baggie Method with a touch of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with water mixture.
Step 3
We use the Perlite Baggie Method with Water and HP solution as the watering agent (Watch the Results!) Simply place your seeds inside the bag with a handful of perlite to cover the seeds.
Step 4
Mix together a bottle of water and a cap full of HP. You can use the cap on the Hydrogen Peroxide (Cleaning Solution Grade) 3% and pour into the bottle of water. A little goes a long way.
Step 5
Now shake the bottle of water solution and then wet the perlite in the baggie. Do not over saturate as the perlite will absorb the water. The key is not to have any standing water in the bag. You need just enough moisture to sprout the seeds into tiny seedlings.
Step 6
Place the baggie into a warm area. The baggie does not need a whole lot of light to begin germination. To help germination you should have these conditions correct because the process of germination depends on several environmental factors such as temperature, water potential, light and nutrients. Water and temperature are determinant factors for seed germination.
Step 7
Once the seeds begin to open and sprout this is called germination. You will then need to find them a light source within a warm climate.
Now you have found great success in growing those hard to germinate seeds that you may have paid a lot for!
