These videos are designed for guitar beginners or those with only limited guitar knowledge. They use simple chord shapes as much as possible and do not necessarily represent the way in which the original song was played. They are designed as practice tools to supplement your other learning methods. Information is provided on screen for both right and left-handed players!
I've arranged this version of Oh Yoko! to use a capo on fret 6. I'm not completely sure if this is the way that the original version was played (I think that a 12-string guitar may have been used), but I went with this for a couple of reasons:
1) it sounds great and matches the sound of the original guitar track
2) it's a very simple way to play the song
The G/F# may seem strange to newcomers. It's what we call a slash chord, and is spoken as \"G slash F sharp\" or \"G over F sharp\". It's sort of a hybrid of two chords mixed together, and is something quite common on guitar. All that it's telling us is to play a standard G major chord, but just alter the root note (which is usually G) to be an F#. So we are playing a G major chord over an F# note.
