“Mendelssohn’s Songs without words have been part of my musical life for a very long time. As a kid I really loved listening to them! Arranging some of them for my Blue Hour album, opened up a wonderful world to me, and with the beginning of lockdown a few months ago, I again took the time to re-visit and to enlarge the collection of these arrangements. Now I’m taking the next step by arranging pieces for clarinet and strings discovering a universe of possibilities. Together with the Schumann Quartett and double bassist Gunnar Upatnieks we are performing a very personal collection of Mendelssohn’s “Songs without words” which hopefully brings to life different sides of this wonderful music.” - Andreas Ottensamer
