Sans is in Smash ultimate... kinda lol. So for that and the 4 year anniversary (which is on the 15th), I wanted to make a mashup of Lifelight with, you guessed it MEGALOVANIA. Except this time it's the smash version and also trying to mimic smash's style. So commencing guitar and violin spam! (I still wish I had a good solo violin library wehhh)
Mixing guitars just doesn't get easier does it? Jesus christ I can't tell you how many frustrating moments I've had trying to get them to work with everything else, also trying to make the drumkit sound beefy enough to go well with the feel of the song. Since it seems a lot of people have trouble making drum kits loud and impacting (myself included) because of how insane the transients are with the kick and snare specifically. So compressing them is almost required if you want a loud mix. Only issue is you end up amplifying the sound of the room with the snare recording which makes it sound gross. So now you have to gate it and... yeah let me stop before I get into a rant about mixing acoustic stuff lol
Despite still being a novice with this kind of music, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Felt excited to input new ideas, hear them work well and I'm typing this a few days before uploading so I'm excited for you to hear it! You're probably listening to it right now as you're reading this huh? Or maybe you're the kind that waits until the end of the video to read descriptions and comments? I do that sometimes.
As for things in life, I'm really sorry about no upload last Friday.
(personal stuff incoming. Just an explanation for those who are curious)
I had a pretty bad anxiety episode last weekend. I couldn't eat or sleep properly for 3 days, trembled a lot, I was in pretty bad shape. I've always had panic attacks but this one was a whole different animal. Not entirely sure where it came from or why it got that bad, but I'm looking into counceling to hopefully learn a thing or to on how to deal with this in case it happens again. and then after getting better, I just came out of the gate working on this remix lol. It was a nice way to get my mind off things.
