\"Rescue Me\" is a self-released album by John Rich from 2001. Rich was inspired to record it after he and Big Kenny met a cancer patient, Katie Darnell, who played them a song of her own composition. That song turned out to be the title track of this album, which Darnell wrote by herself in an effort to cope with her illness. Wanting to record the song and also wanting Darnell to have a copy, Rich cut this album at Sony/Tree Studios, who donated 30 hours of studio time for the project. Though there was some brief local interest, this album was never released on a wider scale. The recordings \"Rescue Me\" and \"She's A Butterfly\" both later appeared on Rich's 2011 EP \"For The Kids\" in remixed forms. Though she had the satisfaction of hearing her song as recorded by Rich, Darnell sadly passed away in 2003.
