Tim Green is one young man that is hotter than a brick oven and fresher than a crispy cucumber. Why? Well for starters, how many 25 year-olds do you know whose tunes have been keeping dance floors ablaze and have DJ's coming back for more like their favorite narcotic. His releases on Dirtybird, Cocoon, Trapez and others have set the tone and raised the standard for an artist that is truly one of the leaders of Nu-Skool dance music.
Mr. Green has outdone himself this time with the infectious Angelique Kidjo sampled, 'Old Sunshine'. A filthy percussive workout, beefed up with bass that kicks from the bottom up, rolls and then comes tumbling down. Get used to this tune, cause you are going to be hearing a lot of it in the next few months.
If the original does not send you running for the hills Tim has added a little bonus dub version of 'Old Sunshine'. A little compact number trembling with built up energy ready to burst and send this little meteorite back into orbit.
One thing about Tim you dare not forget: he isn't a one trick pony. The sky is the limit for this 12\" and its wings are, 'Flote'. A flipside that is perhaps not quite as explosive as 'Old Sunshine', but the splendid production and ability to switch it up are equally valued skills as is churning out chart thumpers.
Tim is real talent. Some may say, these days you don't need much to actually be talented at making dance music. The people who say that just can't fire up the griddle the way TG can. Our bellies are full, the platter licked clean and we still want seconds. Get it line.
