Main Street, later known as \"1st & Main\" was indisputably one of the best bands to come out of Southeast Missouri in the 1980s. For over a decade, Main Street was the House Band at Glen's Place near Lake Wappapello, MO. The band drew huge crowds and was very popular. During the latter part of the 1980s, Main Street hosted the Budweiser tent at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia for several years and appeared as opening act for Sawyer Brown in the grandstand as well as hosting several other well-known acts in the Bud tent.
The band consisted of:
Steve Pullum, Guitar and Vocals
Tom Menley, Piano and Vocals
Bob Ash, Lead and Steel Guitar
Bill Link, Bass Guitar, and
Jeff Berry, Drums and Vocals.
After a devastating fire at the club in which the band lost all of its equipment, Jeff Berry left the band and was replaced by Jeff Jaynes on Drums. Another well-known SEMO musician, Bruce Zimmerman, also worked with the band at one point for about a year.
During 1986 and 1987, the band recorded this, it's only album of original songs, at AMI Studios in Nashville and at B&A Studios in Dexter, MO. We hope you enjoy this journey into the past and that you will subscribe! Thanks!
