Here's my video game chamber RnB cover of Uraya (Night) from Xenoblade Chronicles 2! I'm Sab and I love saxophone and video games, so now I make covers that combine two of my favorite things!
The second I heard this song in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I absolutely fell in love with it. It reminded me so much of Satorl Marsh from Xenoblade Chronicles in the music and the aesthetic. The Uraya music is just so calming and lush. I wanted to maintain those characteristics but change the orchestral instrumentation to something more in my style.
I love all the strings and countermelodies in the original and decided to create layers within one instrument to keep that full ensemble. This arrangement was done in a bit of a time crunch since I wanted to film while the cherry blossoms were in bloom. It's a very small window haha. I struggled to make the arrangement not sound exactly like the original at first, but after listening to a tune in the same key, I took the idea and ran with it!
The video was so much fun to film since I knew I wanted to be surrounded by pink trees since that's what sticks out the most in Uraya. Everything is pretty dark, but there are these beautiful, glowing pink trees with cascading petals all over the place. I would spend so much time just standing around watching the petals fall and taking in-game screenshots.
Overall, I hope you enjoy this chamber RnB cover of #UrayaNight from #XenobladeChronicles2 done by me, #SabIrene
